Blue Slipper Theatre to Perform John Cariani’s “Almost, Maine”

Livingston, MT Feb 17-Mar 5, 2017

The Blue Slipper Theatre will perform John Cariani’s play “Almost, Maine” February 17 through March 5, 2017. Evening performances are Friday and Saturday at 8PM. Sunday matinee performances at 3PM. Eleven Bozeman, Gardiner, and Livingston-based actors make up the cast of this endearing play about falling in and out of love.

“Almost, Maine” premiered at the Portland Stage Company in Portland, Maine on October 29, 2004. It subsequently opened in New York City at the Daryl Roth Theatre on January 12, 2006. A series of nine vignettes, The New York Times says Almost Maine is

“…witty, romantic, unsentimental. A beautifully structured play, with nifty surprise endings (most but not all of them happy).” The New York Daily News describes the play as “Sweet, poignant, and witty. Nearly perfect. ALMOST, MAINE’s charm is real. [It] packs wit, earns its laughs and, like love, surprises you.”

The Blue Slipper’s production is directed by Francis Wendt. Wendt has over 20 years of experience in community theatres throughout Montana as an actor, technician, designer, and director. “Almost, Maine” is Wendt’s third production as a director.

The Playwright, John Cariani, is an award-winning American actor. Cariani’s career spans television, stage and film with his most notable role being forensic expert, Julian Beck, in “Law & Order”. “Almost, Maine” is the first of the four plays he has written.

Cariani’s play has been performed to national acclaim and is suitable for ages 12 and up. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. They are available by calling the Blue Slipper Theatre at 222-7720 or click here for  Online Ticket Purchase
