Seeking musical theatre actors for the Summer 2024 Blue Slipper presentation of Once. Roles available for all genders aged 20+. Instrumental performance experience is encouraged, but not required. Light movement and heavy dialect work required for all roles; coaching will be provided.

Available Roles 

BILLY (Irish male, 30-50) 

DA (Irish male, 55-75) 

ANDREJ (Czech, male/female/non-binary, 20-40)

SVEC (Czech, male/female/non-binary, 20-40)

BANK MANAGER (Irish male, 35-60, **MUST PLAY GUITAR)

BARUSKA (Czech female, 50-65)

Preparation

Please prepare 32 bars (about 1-2 minutes) of a musical theatre or folk song. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a copy of the piano/vocal score in your preferred key, with clearly marked tempo, start/endpoints. You will have the opportunity to briefly chat with the accompanist regarding your selection and tempo. Please note that accompanist will not transpose. 

Pre-selected sides will be provided for additional evaluation. 

Please wear clothing you can move in. 

Key Dates

If necessary, callbacks will take place the week of 5/13; date and location TBA.

Rehearsals run evenings beginning July 15, with potential weekend sessions pending cast availability; performances run August 23-25 and 29-31, followed by 9/1 strike.
